Last week, we sent out a survey to our donors for some feedback on how we’ve been doing. 📊 [Leaders We Deserve]( {NAME}, Last week, we sent out a survey to our donors for some feedback on how we’ve been doing. 📊 By the way, we don’t just send surveys as a front to solicit donations. As many organizations do. We actually read every response and have learned so much from the questions you’ve answered. I literally pulled out a white board and charted the results with our staff (photo below). It’s our promise to you that we will share the results of these surveys with you promptly after we send them out. [Didn’t get the survey? Click here to make your first contribution and join the thousands of folks supporting Leaders We Deserve.]( Now, here’s a look at what we found: When asked what level of impact donors thought their contributions made, 43% said low to no impact. 🙁 That couldn’t be further from the truth, {NAME}. Your donations have helped us win important races. $5 can mean the difference between going the extra mile to reach just one more voter — and often in competitive races, that’s all it takes! Let’s take Molly Cook as an example: Election night results showed that Molly was down by about 400 votes for most of the night. A ton of people actually thought she had already lost. To the point I was so exhausted from poll watching in Houston that day I went back to our Holiday Inn. But at midnight right as I was going to bed I refreshed the election results page, with all the votes finally counted, she was up by only 64 votes — and today she’s the youngest, most progressive, and first openly LGBTQ+ member of the Texas State Senate as a result. This consequential election was decided by 64 votes. If we weren’t there to support her campaign and reach just that many more voters, we would not be able to celebrate such a huge win for progressives in Texas. When the stakes are this high, even the smallest effort goes a long way. The VAST majority of our funding comes from small dollar donors like you. It’s part of our model because when we have that many donors we can focus on one thing — electing principled leaders who aren’t owned by corporations and are loyal only to their constituents. 👉 Your donations have a real big impact and are helping to build the future of the progressive movement one election and one dollar at a time. So, we hope you’ll consider making your first donation as we get into the heat of the election. You can even take that step today! It was a huge risk but because over 5,000 of you believed in us in our first month, we were able to make this dream a reality. Thank you for making this possible and know that every single dollar you donate matters. Sometimes you may even get a call from me — thanking you for being a small dollar donor! (Just this week I thanked David D. from Miami, FL and Charlotte from Oxford, PA!)
