Just a couple of years ago, Ron DeSantis was strongly in favor of stripping people who are convicted of crimes of their voting rights. [Leaders We Deserve]( This is bullsh*t, {NAME}. Just a couple of years ago, Ron DeSantis and Florida Republicans were strongly in favor of stripping people who are convicted of crimes of their voting rights. They even went out of their way to water down a voter-approved ballot initiative restoring those rights, ensuring as few people as possible could benefit. But now that MAGA’s lord and savior Donald Trump has been convicted on all 34 felony counts in his trial in New York, they’re singing a different tune. DeSantis now says that the state clemency board (which he chairs) will make sure that Trump gets to vote this November. It’s just one more example showing that these guys don’t believe in anything but their own power — and the fake, made-up narratives they spin to maintain it. [If you're ready to elect the kind of leaders we actually deserve, pitch in $5 today and help us elect them all over the country this November.]( While real people are struggling to afford a place to live because housing costs are out of control, Trump is crying about being “persecuted” for being held accountable for committing crimes. While real kids are at risk of dying of gun violence in their schools and in their homes and communities, Ron DeSantis is doing nothing to help them but everything to cater to Trump’s every whim. And in Congress, governor’s offices, and state legislatures all over the country, Republican elected officials at every level of power are going along with it. It’s shameful — and it’s why we’re working so hard to kick them out of office and replace them with leaders we actually deserve this November and beyond. We’ve endorsed 12 fantastic young candidates across the country this year. These are young leaders who actually know what it’s like to struggle to make ends meet, who are young enough to have gone through regular active shooter drills in school, and who will spend their time focused on real problems, not fake ones. We invest a LOT in our endorsed candidates, and they often depend heavily on our support to win. But as a grassroots organization that doesn’t take corporate donations, we can’t do it without your support. [So {NAME}, if you're ready to elect the leaders we deserve this November, please pitch in $5 today.
