I want to share a short story about Bryce Berry, one of our Leaders We Deserve endorsed candidates.

I want to share a short story about Bryce Berry, one of our Leaders We Deserve endorsed candidates. [Leaders We Deserve]( {NAME}, I want to share a short story about Bryce Berry, one of our Leaders We Deserve endorsed candidates who’s running for the state legislature in Atlanta. It is a prime example of why the work we’re doing together is so important. Bryce is a 7th grade teacher for the Atlanta Public School District. He started thinking about running for office when he found out that one of his students saw his father shot and killed in front of him the night before. When Bryce checked in with him, the student said “it’s okay, this kind of thing happens every day” — because that’s just how common gun violence is in his community. After that, Bryce knew he couldn't just continue teaching. He felt like he had to do more for his students who not only live in danger from gun violence in their school, but also their homes. That’s why he ran for the state legislature at just 22 years old. And {NAME}, I’m happy to tell you he just won his primary election, too. Because he’s in a pretty blue district, that primary win makes it a pretty safe bet that Bryce is going to become the first active public school teacher and the youngest state legislator ever elected in Georgia. We can’t take anything for granted, though. This race still matters, because even though the district is typically safe territory for Democrats, the seat is currently held by a former Democrat who flipped to become a Republican in office. Another reason this race is so important: Big turnout in Bryce’s district could prove essential to President Biden winning Georgia and securing reelection this November. Bryce isn’t the only candidate we’re helping out either. Last November we helped Nadarius Clark become the youngest state delegate in Virginia. And just recently, we helped Molly Cook win a special election to fill the remainder of the current term in the Texas Senate AND the Democratic primary runoff last month. Molly will still have to win her election this November to serve a full term, and she’s not alone. There are 13 candidates who we’ve endorsed for this year’s elections so far, and they’re running all over the country. I’m really excited to watch all of these incredible young people win big on Election Day. And {NAME}, please know that none of the work we do is possible without your support. I want to thank you, sincerely, for making this dream of mine a reality. Together, we’re going to elect badass young leaders who will change our country for the better.
