One of the most exciting milestones in learning to program is creating your first web page. Next week, we have two workshops that complement each other perfectly to get you familiar with the basics needed to do just that. If you’re interested in learning about the tools at the core of every dynamic web page, you’ll want to attend this next set of workshops— HTML 101: Learn to Build Webpages from Scratch and How to Style Your Webpages: CSS Basics for Beginners. Signup details below: Join Clare next Tuesday, November 7th to explore the importance of HTML. You’ll leave with an understanding of the syntax of HTML, along with basic tags and organization techniques to get you started creating your own webpages. [Sign up for the “HTML 101” Workshop]( Next Thursday, November 9th, Trevor will introduce you to CSS. If you’ve ever attempted to use CSS and left feeling defeated, this is a great workshop that carefully introduces the tool in a manageable and stress free way. [Sign up for the “CSS Basics for Beginners” Workshop]( Though these workshops are great to attend in sequence, they stand alone just fine, so feel free to attend just one or both. Here’s some of the feedback we’ve received from participants about the previous iterations of these two workshops: “I really like Clare's presentation style. It's clear and well-paced so I could easily follow along even as a beginner to HTML.” “Very good presenter. The material also was a good span of skill level - easier to harder without being too much of either.” Workshops are free and open to everyone, regardless of your Launch School subscription status. They’re designed to help grasp essential programming topics. Looking forward to seeing you there. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
