The summer is a notoriously difficult period for grassroots, small-dollar fundraising in New York City. [Brad Lander for NYC Comptroller] {NAME}, It’s the middle of a busy week in New York City. School is almost out, it’s Pride Month, and summer is officially here. Like I’m sure you are, I’m looking forward to enjoying sunny Prospect Park and Pride Parades across the five boroughs throughout the month. But as June spins onward, we encounter an annual problem… The summer is a notoriously difficult period for grassroots, small-dollar fundraising in New York City. We’re facing a slowdown like that now. Understandably, it’s because people check their email less frequently, aren’t tuned in to politics, or just don’t keep tabs on their inbox. New Yorkers are busy people! We see a slowdown every summer, and it genuinely becomes a problem because grassroots contributions make up a significant chunk of our overall fundraising. That means every single contribution this summer — $10, $5, or even $3 — has a bigger impact than before. [If you’re in a place to do so, will you consider making a donation of any amount to our campaign? Any support you’re able to give ensures I can continue serving the people of New York, and it’s never too early or late to make an impact.]( [CONTRIBUTE]( Thank you, and here’s to a meaningful summer. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
