For more things to do, [check out our events calendar](. Here's what I'm loving. The Defect is one of the playable characters in "Slay the Spire," along with The Ironclad, The Silent and The Watcher. 'Slay the Spire' "Slay the Spire" is a video game that looks simple and inconspicuous on the outside, but actually requires learning strategies and figuring out your play style in order for you to make a successful run. It officially released in 2019, though I didn't start playing until 2022. I've since put more than 300 hours on the game. "Slay the Spire" is a deckbuilding game, where you choose one of four characters with vastly different play styles, and you climb your way up the spire by defeating enemies, getting loot and cards along the way. Unlike an RPG, you can just drop into this game, play a round and be done with it. It typically takes between 1-2 hours to complete a run, though sooner if your character dies. When the world becomes overwhelming and stressful, "Slay the Spire" is a low-stakes game that's just mentally engaging enough that it's fun, but not too challenging to make it a slog. (For those who already love "Slay the Spire," the sequel is set to come out for early access in 2025, and will bring back The Ironclad and The Silent characters.) Did we spot you?
