Meanwhile, the White House remains hopeful and boosted its offer in COVID-19 aid talks on Friday in hopes of an agreement before Election Day. President Donald Trump took to Twitter to declare, “Covid Relief Negotiations are moving along. Go Big!” A top economic adviser said the Trump team is upping its offer in advance of a Friday conversation between Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The negotiations resumed late this week, just days after Trump declared any relief bill dead and accused Pelosi of being unfair in aid talks. He later backtracked and said he would consider stand-alone aid packages with stimulus for airlines and the American people.
