My exclusive interview with the Vice President. January 24, 2024 Good morning! As many of you know,

My exclusive interview with the Vice President. [For the best experience, read in browser.]( January 24, 2024 Good morning! As many of you know, I sat down with Vice President Kamala Harris last week, and I’m excited to share [our all-too-necessary conversation on abortion rights](. We’ve also got the outcome of the New Hampshire primary and what it means for the two remaining GOP hopefuls. Speaking of hopefuls, we’re sharing [the full list of 2024 Oscar nominees]( — and [the surprising history behind one of the contenders](. Plus, our Going Strong series continues with [a strength-building upper body workout](. Read on!   In the News [Gif of Katie Couric and Kamala Harris]( KCM On the Record Vice President Kamala Harris has embarked on a nationwide tour to combat restrictive abortion laws around the country, and one of her first stops was Katie Couric Media. I had an illuminating conversation with America's first female VP about the White House's plans to protect reproductive rights. “Women around our country are experiencing profound harm because of these laws as a result of that Supreme Court decision,” Harris told me. “And many of the stories are untold. Many of these cases are women who are silently suffering.” Here’s [how she’s fighting for abortion access]( and why the issue could drive voters to the polls in this year’s highly anticipated election. Donald Trump was victorious with 54.6% of the vote to Nikki Haley's 43.2%. He mocked his rival, calling her an "imposter," who'd had a "very bad night" and had "claimed victory" (she didn't — she even congratulated Trump on his win). Haley has vowed to keep fighting, and is refocusing her efforts on the February 24 contest in South Carolina, her home state. (Meanwhile, on the Democratic side, President Biden easily won the party's unusual primary as a write-in candidate.) I spoke to my friend, political mastermind Brian Goldsmith, about Trump's double-digit win, why it's "worrying and disconcerting" (even if it's not surprising), his "vengeful" victory speech — and [how his path to the presidency is looking now](.   More Stories Freak crash: A Russian military plane carrying 74 people — apparently including 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war — has crashed near the border with Ukraine. According to Russian state media, the aircraft was en route to the southern city of Belgorod ahead of a prisoner swap. It's not yet clear what caused the crash, and although the Kremlin is reportedly looking into the situation, it's yet to offer any further comment. "Frustrated and disappointed": Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci told NBC News that in-house inspections of the company's Boeing 737 Max 9 planes following the near-disaster earlier this month revealed loose bolts in "many" of the aircraft. “I am angry," he said. "This happened to Alaska Airlines. It happened to our guests and it happened to our people. And my demand on Boeing is what are they going to do to improve their quality programs in-house.” One to watch: The FDA has told drug companies to add a boxed warning to CAR-T cancer therapies to inform prescribers that the treatment itself may cause cancer. FDA spokesperson Carly Kempler said that "the overall benefits of these products continue to outweigh their potential risks," but the update was made following 25 reports of patients developing rare secondary cancers following the therapy.   Power Zone [Illustration of Black woman in the bathtub looking at herself in a handheld mirror]( Getty Images If you’re still embracing the “new year, new me” mentality, here’s some great news. We asked this ever-upbeat Peloton instructor/motivational guru (care to take a guess?) about how to act on your inner voice that’s calling you to a greater cause or life purpose. Discover the strategies she’s been sharing during complimentary fireside chats at Capital One Cafés on [how to empower yourself this year and beyond](. [READ MORE]( [Sponsored by Capital One](   "And the Nominees Are..." [Oscar Statue on Red curtain]( Getty Images The 2024 Oscar nominees are officially here, and the list is chock-full of strong contenders. We've got [the full breakdown of the films competing for an Academy Award]( — and the most shocking snubs. It probably wouldn't shock you to learn Greta Gerwig’s Barbie earned a whopping 8 nominations — but what might take you by surprise is [the fascinating history of the doll]( that inspired the movie.   Tune In [Katie Couric, James Carville, and Sarah Longwell]( Courtesy of Big Tent USA Are you starting to feel election anxiety creeping up? Don't freak out. Tonight, I'll be sitting down with some of the brightest political minds to try to make sense of it all: legendary political consultant James Carville and The Bulwark publisher Sarah Longwell. We'll also touch on the Democratic Party's messaging problem, Trump, and the craziest members of Congress. It's all going down tonight at 7 pm Eastern, so make sure to [RSVP right here](.   Going Strong [Ryan Cooper doing a plank]( James Dimmock So far in our [Going Strong]( series, wellness entrepreneur Ryan Cooper has offered crucial advice on all aspects of fitness — from mental to physical.
