But for Israelis like Aviva Siegel, Yamit Ashkenazi, and others whose loved onesâ fates hang in the balance in Gaza â and those mourning the lives taken â that horrific day isnât over. âIn many senses, itâs still happening,â IDF officer Maya Bentwich tells us. Aviva, 63, and her husband, Keith, now 65, were kidnapped from their home in kibbutz Kfar Aza on Oct. 7. In the tunnels in Gaza, they were âtortured.â âThey hit us, they starved us, they didnât give us water,â she tells Katie Couric Media.
