After a 40-minute delay due to technical issues, Elon Musk interviewed Trump live on X, offering up softball questions that gave him ample opportunity to attack Vice President Kamala Harris, repeat his false election claims, and call the criminal cases against him a "conspiracy" cooked up by the Biden administration. The CDC now considers Covid-19 an endemic disease, meaning the virus is both regularly occurring and here to stay for the foreseeable future. But not all experts agree. âThereâs still a lot of unpredictability with this virus,â epidemiologist Katelyn Jetelina told NPR. This comes amid a spike in summer cases. The State Department said those violations had been âeffectively remediated." In related news, Iran has rejected calls to "stand down" and resist making retaliatory strikes against Israel following the assassination of a Hamas leader in Tehran. The U.S. has sent a guided missile submarine to the region in anticipation of an attack. The FBI says it's investigating the alleged hacking of Trump's election campaign, and according to reports, it's also looking into efforts to infiltrate top Democrats' accounts. The bureau didn't specifically name Trump â or Iran, which Trump blamed for the cyberattack. Team USA's appeal against gymnast Jordan Chiles being stripped of her bronze medal was rejected last night. It's vowed to continue fighting â and in the meantime, Chiles says she's taking a break from social media "for my mental health."
