In addition, âcatastrophic floodingâ in Iowa prompted emergency evacuations on Saturday, and at least nine people were rescued in Sioux Falls, South Dakota following heavy rains. Both events have been linked to the effects of climate change. While some parts of the U.S. will get a reprieve from the heat early this week, the worst is expected to stretch from Oklahoma to Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and parts of the South.
