Plus, would you join me for a David Gilmour concert? ;) [View this email in your browser]( September 2024 Bid & Give, Blues, and What's Next! Howdy strummers, Hope you are having a super fun day! I’m feeling tired, trying to push through and keep working, but tough after a few nights of poor sleep. It looks like the ‘UK summer’ (not to be confused with warm sunny summers that other countries get!) is behind us. Huge thunderstorm with hail outside and the forecast says mostly rain for the next week at least. Yay. But that said, I wanna send my best wishes out to everyone having serious weather problems around the world. The awful floods in Poland and surrounding countries, flooding in Kenya, devastating landslides in Papua New Guinea, Hurricanes in the US, Typhoons in Japan… It’s crazy. So lucky that Global Warming isn’t real! [sarc.] But otherwise, everything is great. I’m still fully immersed in the Blues—such an all-consuming project, but I’m still learning and enjoying watching the students progress too. Curating the immersion playlists is one of the most time hungry elements, trawling through albums and looking for gems to include. Class 1 is half-way now, and we're excited to start Class 2 in a few months—[join the waiting list]( I’ve also been trying to make time for songwriting again—I've been really missing it… I was also feeling inspired by a new artist I heard about from Rick Beato called [Hohnen Ford](. She’s got an incredible voice, quirky beautiful melodies, and interesting harmonies—a unique blend that sounds like a mix of Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, and Elliott Smith (3 of my all-time favorites!). Only Way Out, the opener from her new EP is superb. After having the album on repeat for a morning, I signed into [Instagram]( to see some of the covers she does, gave her a follow, and was surprised when I came back later to see she’d messaged me saying “Ur videos were my only guitar lessons! I used them to learn [Elliott Smith](. Really nice to think that I’d perhaps helped an artist I think is amazing. Good feels. And how would you like to join me at the legendary Royal Albert Hall to see David Gilmour live? I’ve got a hospitality box, and I’m hosting a special auction to raise funds for [Playin’ It Forward]( charity that provides guitars to aspiring musicians who can’t afford an instrument. We just bought 50 new acoustic guitars to donate to students in the United States; more about that as soon as Fanny comes back from vacation and can go through our applications backlog! Exciting times ahead… :) But anyway—don’t miss this chance to enjoy an unforgettable concert while supporting a great cause! All you have to do is send you bid here—my team will contact you as soon as we have made the selection. :) Good luck, and thank you for your support! [Bid a Spot]( What’s Next? I've just released a [new YouTube lesson]( of the Solo Blues with MatchMySound course—and would appreciate if you could help me with the algorithm and give it a like and a comment! :) Also, how do you like MatchMySound so far? I'd love to hear your feedback. Also exciting is that my free [Clubs]( (live classes)—Blues with Justin—are back! Join me for my upcoming free live class and [Let's Talk Blues](. We'll boost your Blues chord vocabulary and take your guitar skills up a notch. Dive into new sounds, killer licks, and deeper Blues knowledge in an immersive experience. :) My [Approved Teachers]( have also great classes coming up and they are all free to join! We've just changed platforms and faced a few tech issues, but everything is running smoother now and we're all excited for the upcoming lives. Oh, and if you're into some old joke, [Praise the Chord is still 15% off]( (discount is added at checkout!)! I truly appreciate your support when you shop at my Merch store—it helps keep the site going, and I love seeing you wear it with pride. Thank you so much! Wishing you a great week ahead. Cheers, J.
