Check out our newest song lessons and all the updates from JustinGuitarLand! "_ [View this email in your browser]( July 2024 Monthly Digest Howdy strummers! I hope this email finds you safe and well and getting quality time with your 6-string friend. It's super hot here in the UK—it was showing 30c outside when I was writing this newsletter, which is nice after the miserable wet summer we had for the most part. Annoyingly, I managed to catch a cold and have a very sore throat and feeling a bit lousy. I have lots of filming to do but it will have to wait. :( I’m only just back from a family vacation in Croatia. It was very hot there but it was an active holiday and we were mostly out on the water sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and swimming. It was certainly one of those holidays where you need a holiday to get over the holiday! I’d never been windsurfing before so that was fun and could get up and go along by the end of the holiday, but it was much harder than I’d anticipated. I’d not sailed in a long time either and I really enjoyed pottering around in a little Lazer dingy. If I ever find more time I’d love to do more of it… but UK weather… maybe not. Back to guitar stuff! We just released Unit 2 of [Blues Immersion]( which is exciting. It’s super rewarding for me, both in creating this program but also watching the students enjoying themselves! I keep discovering new music and it’s been a fascinating deep dive into music I love. I’ve not had time for much else lately. I make at least a little time for myself for creative work; it's been mostly acoustic guitar recently. I've got a few instrumental songs cooking and some fingerpicking folky kind of things. I really want to get working on a new record, but need to get all of the Blues Immersion program finished first. Anyways—let's take a look on what's on the menu for this month! :) Latest Song Lessons [Key to the Highway]( - This is a classic song with a rich history and a timeless appeal. We'll look at it in the key of A, similar to how Eric Clapton played it. This lesson will keep things straightforward, making it accessible for beginners and allowing more advanced players to add their flair! Eric Clapton's Version | [Grade 5]( [Crossroads]( - The version of "Crossroads" we'll explore is vastly different from Robert Johnson's original. Clapton's 1968 live rendition with Cream deviates from the traditional 12-bar blues form, giving it a unique character and challenge. The Cream version is also the standard for jam sessions! Eric Clapton's Version | [Grade]( 💡 Get verified tabs and chords with lyrics to my guitar lessons with [JustinGuitar Tabs]( Starting at USD 7.99, and you can try it for free for 7 days.
