It’s time to end our state’s housing crisis

Governor Hochul’s housing strategy has proven to be woefully inadequate to meet the scale of the housing crisis, the depth of need, that decades of corporate giveaways have helped to create. Development shouldn’t be driven by donors, it should center the needs of New Yorkers struggling as rents rise and communities are displaced. We can’t just tinker at the edges on issues of this magnitude and importance in people’s lives – we need to build new systems that work for all. That’s why I just released my new Housing for All plan today, to guarantee housing as a human right and finally end our growing housing and homelessness crisis. Our platform is one of the boldest in the nation, {NAME}. Specifically, our Housing for All plan would: - Create one million high quality, permanently affordable housing units for all New Yorkers; - Prioritize Good Cause legislation & create a foreclosure relief fund; - Permanently reduce property tax burdens on middle & working class families; - And build 20,000 new permanent supportive housing units to address the homelessness crisis.
