[Jumaane For Governor: Bring Change to New York, Donate Now]( {NAME}, it was no surprise that at yesterday’s New York Democratic Convention, the state party displayed its intention to maintain the status quo and do whatever it can to aid our opponent. While the governor may have changed last year, the people in power in our party and our state who enabled him are still trying to protect the old, failed ways of governing. We need to move forward in New York and build a new normal — and we won't be deterred by the establishment shielding the current power structures, status quo and backroom brokers from dissenting voices. [That’s why Jumaane is running for Governor, and it’s why we need your support at this critical moment. Please chip in whatever you can to help our campaign change the status quo >>]( [Donate $5 →]( [Donate $25 →]( [Donate $50 →]( [Donate $100 →]( [Donate $250 →]( [Donate a custom amount →]( Despite the efforts to tilt the scale against us, we are proud that our campaign received double the support at this year’s convention than we did four years ago, when Jumaane ultimately came within 7% of victory in the Lieutenant Governor race despite being outspent by the party machine by a factor of 10. As Jumaane has consistently said, he’s running to represent 20 million New Yorkers and bring bold, progressive leadership to Albany — not to serve special interests and corporate donors that paid the governor $20 million dollars to preserve the status quo. We’re looking forward to beginning the petitioning process and speaking with New Yorkers around the states, fueled by the people power of our growing grassroots coalition. But since our opponent now has strong backing from the state party and corporate donors, we need help from grassroots supporters like you to keep up.
