Hello friends!
It's spring in New Orleans and the days don't get more beautiful. When I lived in California, the skies offered one perfect day after the next. In New Orleans it feels like we earn and cherish our perfect days. These are them.
I hope this finds you easing into spring - noticing the flowers in bloom and the bright green baby leaves as they come to life.
Thank you for all of your support this week. It has warmed my heart to read your reactions to my last post: [Six Weeknight Meals I'm Eating Right Now](. So many of us are trying to balance our bodies with food and the commitment is not for the faint of heart. I'm glad we're in this together and really so thankful for you.
Below is some springtime inspiration for these gorgeous days ahead.
My love to you!

February's most popular post:
[Pistachio Rose Galette Des Rois Cookies]( - they're baby French King Cakes and I'd like to make a case for these gems all year round. (Can you tell I'm already missing Mardi Gras?)
Easter bakes, here we come...
Easter baking is arguably just as good as Easter Candy (which we buy on sale the Monday morning after Easter, obvi).
[Browned Butter Carrot Loaf]( is the springtime cousin to banana bread and every bit as satisfying. It's not vegetable-y but it's backed with finely grated sweet carrots. Topped with cream cheese frosting and salted pistachios - this loaf is the fastest, most direct root to Carrot Cake. You're welcome.
Tis the season to hot cross everything. Yourself and your biscuits included. These buttermilk biscuits are packed with dried currants which give them just a hint of sweetness. And just because they're hot crossed doesn't mean we have to shy away from spreading them with butter so carry on, carry on. [Hot Cross Biscuits](.
Simple baby [meringues]( crisp and sweet. These are vanilla bean, berry, and chocolate. I can dibs on all of the chocolate. Please and Thank You.
If you're up for a baking project, buckle up! These are my favorite Easter treat: [Chocolate Marbled Italian Easter Bread](. A rich, eggy dough, studded with chocolate and baked with dyed eggs so the eggs cooks along with the bread. It's a wonder and these bread nests are so fun to make!
It's springtime in New Orleans
This time of year reminds me why I chose to call this place home.
[My New Orleans Favorites](
Sun in the skies and a pleasant breeze in the air!? Let's take advantage of spring before summer sets. This season's New Orleans favorites focuses on a walking tour of The Garden District. The houses are incredible, huge and historic, and the food is really fun (especially considering it's crawfish season).
[I Love You, New Orleans](
"New Orleans isn’t just a city… it’s a spirit and culture. It’s a lady and a trouble-maker. It’s palpable and irresistible, and will not be ignored. New Orleans, you excite me. New Orleans, I’m hungry. New Orleans, I love you."
A year after having moved to New Orleans, I wrote this. I still feel exactly the same about this place.
[New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival](
So many incredible acts this year (really!), but if you know me at all you know I'll be at the front of the stage for Alanis Morissette cry-singing my heart out. (Everything is fine - great really.)

What I'm listening to...
Emily King's made us a feminist and feeling album in [Scenery](. So much soul! I'm obsessed. I play the vinyl everyday.
Ariana Grande's [Thank You, Next](. In case you need a super empowering break up album. Or in case you're a Gemini - it just resonates with us. It's science.
Take good care today and tomorrow and the day after that!
xoxo Joy
