Urging Amtrak and NJ Transit to Fix Infrastructure Woes & Delays. - I joined my fellow Jersey Democrats to urge Amtrak and NJ Transit to make upgrades to their infrastructure and help prevent disruptions for commuters. Rallying for Common Sense Gun Safety. - I joined gun safety advocates, local leaders, and the North Jersey community to rally for commonsense gun safety measures to keep our families safe after the District Court’s awful decision striking down NJ’s AR-15 ban. Protecting Families from Scammers. - I announced the Stop SCAMS Act – new federal legislation to crack down on heartless scammers who steal vital nutrition assistance benefits from families. Read at [NJ Globe.]( 4. Clawing Back Federal Investment for North Jersey Firefighters. - Firefighters always have our backs. I’ve helped North Jersey fire departments claw back more than $8 million in federal investment since 2017. - We recently clawed back $161,000 to ensure Englewood firefighters get life-saving training to rescue trapped residents. Honoring Our Fifth District Hometown Heroes. - I honored more than twenty Fifth District Hometown Heroes and celebrated these outstanding community leaders for their dedication to helping improve the lives of their neighbors, families, and communities. Combating Iran’s Threats & Fighting Terrorism. - I introduced the bipartisan Bunker Busters Act to help ensure Iran can never threaten the U.S. or our allies with a nuclear weapon. This legislation is key in our global fight against terrorism. Read at [JNS](. 7. Working to Bring the Hostages Home, Crush Hamas Terrorists, and Deliver Humanitarian Aid. - On August 1, we marked 300 days since Hamas’s October 7 terrorist attacks. Today, our goals remain the same: free the hostages, deliver humanitarian aid, and defeat Iranian-backed terror groups Hamas and Hezbollah. Read at [NJ Spotlight News](. 8. Safeguarding Religious Institutions and Combating Auto Theft. - I helped lead three amendments that passed in the House’s Homeland Security Appropriations package to protect our houses of worship, schools, and community centers, and combat auto theft. Read at [WRNJ](. 9. Improving Sunscreen Safety. - I introduced my “Sunscreen Safety Plan” to help Americans shield themselves from the sun’s risks and prevent skin cancer. Watch at [NBC](. 10. Promoting Grill Safety. - I announced my new three-part “Grill Safety Plan” to prevent grill-related accidents and keep our families safe. Read at [WRNJ](. 11. Expanding Holocaust Education and Maintaining the Delaware Water Gap. - I am proud that my provisions to expand Holocaust education nationwide and maintain the Delaware Water Gap passed the House as part of the Interior & Environment appropriations package.
