Saturday, November 11th, 2023 Welcome to the weekend! Today is Veterans Day, and we're grateful for each of America's military veterans. [On this day in 1919](, one year after the signing of the armistice that ended the fighting in WWI, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the first commemoration of Armistice Day, a remembrance of those who died in WWI. In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the bill that expanded Armistice Day into a celebration of all American veterans. Thank you for your service! If you haven't signed up for The Flyover yet, you can take care of that [with one click](. Finally, we have a new sponsor today. Don't forget to check out [Bonner Private Wines](. [Take Off] [Article Icon 1]Michigan Football Coach Suspended On the eve of the Michigan Wolverines' critical game against undefeated Penn State, the Big 10 conference [suspended head coach Jim Harbaugh]( for three regular season games. The suspension is a result of the ongoing investigation into Michigan's[alleged scheme to steal play calls]( from opponents. The University of Michigan [immediately filed]( for a temporary restraining order against the Big 10 commissioner's decision, and a Washtenaw County judge may lift the conference's suspension before today's noon ET kickoff vs. Penn State. Michigan football staffer Connor Stalions is accused of paying associates to attend the games of future Wolverine opponents and video their play call signs, and the ongoing investigation concerns Harbaugh's knowledge of the alleged scheme. Bonus note from The Editor: Evansville University had some fun with this controversy at a recent basketball game. [Watch the footage here](. [Article Icon 2]Report: Billions in COVID Relief Funds Stolen According to a new report, nearly 10% of the $4.3 trillion in COVID relief payments dispersed by the US government [were acquired]( with fraudulent applications. Taxpayer dollars were used to purchase a private island in Florida, a $58,000 trading card, and an oil field in Texas, among other things. Almost 3,200 people have been charged with fraud, and about $1.4 billion of stolen relief funds have been recovered. The Justice Department has created "strike forces" to help catch all the thieves, but officials doubt that [all COVID fraudsters]( will be caught. [Article Icon 3]Nuclear Stealth Bomber Takes Off The B-21 Raider has [taken its first test flight](. It took off from Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale, California, and landed safely at Edwards Air Force Base 90 minutes later. It's the first new American bomber produced in over 30 years. Almost every aspect of the new aircraft is classified, but it's thought to have much greater stealth capability and range than its predecessors, and it will be able to fly without a human pilot. [Images and video]( of the B-21 taxing and taking off started circulating on Friday morning. The Air Force plans on buying at least 100 of the new advanced aircraft. ---------------------------------------------------------------
