The targets were used by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps—along with militia backed by Iran—and the operation took place in response to a [string of attacks]( on American troops in Iraq and Syria. A Pentagon spokesman said that similar operations [will continue]( if attacks on U.S. forces do not cease. In Israel, IDF forces carried out their biggest ground attack of the war, sending tanks and troops into Northern Gaza Wednesday night on a brief raid ahead of an expected ground invasion.
