[John Avlon for Congress]( {NAME}, We are less than a week away from Election Day and have four days of early voting left. Here is how you can make a difference and help John Avlon win this race! New York’s first district has more registered independent voters than almost any other district in the state. What does that mean to us? Your neighbors could still be undecided. That’s where you come in. This race is coming down to the wire, and we’re going to need every last vote. The best way to earn these votes is through conversations. That’s why I’m asking you to email or text 10 people you know in Suffolk County explaining why you’re casting a ballot for John and encouraging them to do the same. Here is what you can tell them: John will stand up against hyperpartisanship: Congress has been plagued by hyperpartisanship and John has pledged to end it, drawing on the lessons of his books on George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. John is a commonsense Democrat who is focused on rebuilding the middle of our politics and the middle of our economy. He’s focused on a new kind of politics based on common facts and finding common ground for the common good. That's why he has been endorsed by Democrats, Independents, and Republicans. John will reach across the aisle and work with everyone to deliver results for Suffolk County and the entire country. John will protect reproductive freedoms: John believes that the decision to have an abortion should be between a woman, her doctor, and her God – not the government. John’s opponent has said “overturning Roe v. Wade is a step in the right direction” and repeatedly that he would vote to stop second and third trimester abortions. That’s a 12 week abortion ban. Only John can be trusted on reproductive freedom. John will fight for the middle class and tackle the affordability crisis: Since day one of his campaign, John has said that it is no coincidence that the middle of our politics has been hollowed out at the same time the middle of our economy has been hollowed out. John has pledged to restore the state and local tax deduction and fight for an enhanced child tax credit which will dramatically cut taxes for Long Islanders. John’s opponent has failed to make any progress on the state and local tax deduction and failed to get his own party to bring it up for a vote. We need real leadership in Congress fighting for Suffolk County. John has pledged that every economic question in Congress will be considered through the lens of whether it strengthens the middle class and restores faith in the American Dream. John will protect our democracy: We must never have another act of political violence like we saw on January 6th, 2021. In the News12 debate, John called on his opponent to denounce Trump’s praise of Adolf Hitler and he couldn’t do it. How can we expect him to stand up to the extremists of his own party when he can’t even break with Trump on something so simple. Many of you have already helped with your money and your time and we are asking once more to help us cross the finish line and take this race home for a win! Please reach out to ten friends or neighbors to make a difference in this race. And please vote early if you haven’t already, and be sure to encourage everyone you know to do the same because it helps us focus on voters who need the extra nudge.
