On to November [John Avlon for Congress]( {NAME}, we did it! This is a long email -- but I hope you'll read it and join in our excitement and gratitude. Last night, we showed that the politics of addition can defeat the politics of division – and that will be the key to finally flipping this swing seat and winning in November. Despite all the serious challenges our community and our country face, this is the time to be happy warriors – knowing that we are fighting the good fight, side by side and unafraid. I want to congratulate Nancy Goroff on running a hard-fought race – but now it’s time for all Suffolk County Democrats to come together. We need to unite so that we can fire up the base and then – because Democrats are the last big tent party that believes in bipartisanship - reach out with clarity and confidence and get after the real business of winning this election and winning back Congress. From the very beginning of this campaign - just 126 days ago - I was clear about our goals and vision for winning. [I said that we would build a broad patriotic coalition to defend American democracy by defeating Donald Trump and helping Democrats taking back the House. Our general election campaign begins NOW - if you're with me, can you pitch in to make sure we win back this seat?]( We here in Suffolk County are lucky to live in a swing district - most Americans don’t - and that’s what’s led to the poisonous hyper partisanship that has frustrated so many of us. But here we can do something about it. We can be the change we want to see. Because winning in a swing district requires the politics of addition, not division. It requires reaching out and bringing people together. And that’s what we’ve done to date – bringing together the New Democratic Coalition in Congress – with leaders like Congressman Tom Suozzi and Greg Meeks – as well as the hard-working Teachers Union and the heroic healthcare workers of 1199/SEIU. We’ve got to continue bringing people together around common sense problem solving over the next stage of this campaign. Because the real work starts now. I want to close with this: I've always believed that politics is history in the present tense. This is our chance to write a new chapter of the American story. It means taking responsibility for what happens on our watch. We are called upon to overcome extremism and division in our nation and prove once again of fundamental strength and character of American democracy. So today, let’s savor the victory that we have achieved together– and then tomorrow rededicate ourselves to the larger effort at hand - building an even stronger campaign, focused on winning the general election. Thank you for continuing to fight this good fight with me. On to November! -John [CONTRIBUTE]( PAID FOR BY JOHN AVLON FOR CONGRESS John Avlon for Congress PO Box 1200 Sag Harbor, NY 11963 United States If you believe you received this message in error or wish to no longer receive email from us, please [unsubscribe](.
