How Did a Short, Broke, Bed-Wetting Waiter, With No Car, a Beer Belly, and Bad Breath, Attract and Date a Young, Beautiful Woman... While Other Men with Looks, Cars, and Money Tried and FAILED Miserably? [>> What women really respond to]( Hey guys, A recent episode of American Greed featured the story of a jealous accountant who wanted to live the lifestyle of his rich clients without earning it. So, he concocted a scheme where he filed false tax returns on his clients behalf (after showing them the real ones), then got them to write their tax payment checks to a “trust fund” he set up that he supposedly paid the government out of. *****Photos of SEXY Women For YOU***** As part of an unusual experiment in male-female relations, sexy woman will send you a sexy photo once a day! Eventually he got caught and went to jail where he belongs. But out of the whole con, what gets me is supposedly smart business owners writing checks to their accountant’s account instead of verifying it actually went to the Federal Govt. While I like my accountant, I make it a point every year to verify that 1) he filed the return and 2) the govt got my money. After all, it’s my ass, not his, if they don’t get paid. So I take a few minutes to verify everything is as it should be, and I have no problems. You would think that such smart people would verify such things given the potential consequences, but often even the smartest give into trust, and their lack of skepticism gets them into trouble. I am not a fan of being a skeptic just to be skeptical—that often leads to missed opportunities and a miserable life. But I am skeptical in any situation where not doing so can lead to lasting consequences, especially when verification takes a few minutes of your time. We do not live the happy sappy world you see on TV commercials, sit coms, and other network TV shows. We live the world Machiavelli described where “men are ambitious” and “men are neither good nor evil, they are both good and evil at the same time.” That leads to people lying to you, trying to deceive you for their own ends, and scheming against you while you do the same against them. That is human nature, and you should look at it realistically, taking into account things that could harm your own self interest. Perhaps if you dig deeper the woman you think you want to spend the rest of your life with has credit issues, a crazy ex she “forgot” to tell you about, a problem with the bottle, or an arrest record. Checking up on such things before forming any sort of relationship does not take long, and it can save you a lot of heartbreak. Or it can confirm that things really are the way they seem. Not verifying things you should verify is just plain dumb, but very smart people do it everyday because they desperately WANT to blindly trust. It feels easier to do so, but it is a feeling you have to fight. Healthy skepticism and an acknowledgement of the world we really live in will save you a pile of grief…and, as a neat bonus, earn you a lot of respect from others, albeit grudging respect.
