The rest of the commercial is fine, and they may have good products, but I don’t care because they keep blaring my least favorite sound. Their chance of getting any business from me is over before it even started. They put me in a bad emotional mood for business, and because I am annoyed I will not give them money. Many guys do the same thing with women. They do something from the get go that annoys them, and no matter how good they are, they are judged by that one thing. I have even had a woman never want to see me again because we walked by a very bad smell and she associated it with me—that’s how powerful a single bad emotional experience can be. That’s why you need to pay attention to the details of attraction— clean car, clean place, good smells, good dress, and avoidance of language, tone, and demeanor that turns women off. Is this a lot of work? Well, yes and now. It seems like it, but it doesn’t take you a long time to get into the habit, and then it goes quickly. Since few men pay attention to such details, when you do it gives you an instant competitive advantage over them. This doesn’t just apply to women, of course. It applies to every relationship. I have refused to do business with people because the language they use in print is silly—slang used amongst teenagers, or things that sound better spoken. They attempt to initiate a business conversation by typing “’sup, bro?” and babbling about their “peeps.” Very annoying to me, so it’s a turn off. Humans are not rational creatures as you will see by the results of tonight’s Presidential debate. We make decisions based on emotions and justify with facts. We are quicker than we probably should be to dismiss the formation of a relationship because something triggered our annoyance. No, you will not eliminate your natural propensity to annoy people, but you can dial it down dramatically by thinking about it…and that will lead you to much relationship success.
