This is great news. But the threats to our democracy aren't going away any time soon (and it should be noted that we wouldn't have even been in this situation if the Supreme Court hadn't already severely weakened the VRA a decade ago). We cannot allow voting rights to continually hinge on thread-bare decisions by an increasingly-politicized court. I've repeatedly voted in Congress to strengthen the Voting Rights Act and further reduce gerrymandering, and I'll never stop fighting to pass pro-democracy legislation into law â â and that's part of the reason Republicans are determined to defeat me.
