We started this tradition during our honeymoon. We had originally planned an 8-day safari. But then some friends told us about their honeymoons: one couple traveled for 6 months, and another took a year-long trip. We ended up taking a six-week honeymoon to Italy, Kenya, India, and Thailand. We even brought our parents with us to Italy! [Ramit and Cass with family] On the last night, Cass said something amazing: âNormally, Iâd be sad at the end of a trip like this, but I know we can come back whenever we want.â That was the beginning of our annual tradition. We spend a lot of time throughout the year planning our trips. We talk about where we want to go â whatâs meaningful to us, or what sounds awesome. We talk about who we want to bring with us. We talk about what would make the trip magical. We talk about it ALL YEAR. Half the magic of the trip is in the planning â the anticipating and the visualization of the trip. When we get to our destination, we take our time. Weâre not rushing around to all the museums and tourist attractions in four days. Instead, we craft our trips around our Rich Life. I love luxury hotels, so we find the best ones to stay in. We both love street food, food tours, and learning about design, so we search out the best experiences. We plan one big event every other day (it used to be 2 per day, then 1 per day). [Memories weâll never forget] Memories weâll never forget One of the highlights of each trip is dreaming together about the year to come. In 2021, we started planning our trip with an eye on COVID. We had an exotic trip booked in a hard-to-reach place. I even arranged a rescue service in case we needed to get extracted. It was an expensive trip. At the last minute, we were debating whether the trip was too risky. Should we risk going? Should we cancel? If we canceled, what would we do instead? It was a difficult decision. QUESTION FOR YOU: What would you do? Youâve spent a lot of money on a trip that youâve dreamed about â and planned â all year. Youâve even prepared a backup plan for if something goes wrong. But at the last minute, something comes up and it seems like the better decision is to cancel the trip. What would you do? Reply to this email and tell me what you would do (and WHY). I read every response. Tomorrow, Iâll tell you what we did. [Signature] WHAT TO DO NEXT REPLY: Youâve spent a lot of money and time planning a trip that youâve dreamed about all year. But at the last minute, something comes up and it seems like the better decision is to cancel the trip. What would you do? Let me know. [SIGN UP]() Featured Products
