Man my hayfever is back with a vengeance. My wife started taking antihistamines a few weeks ago, and I quietly thought to myself - strange, I don't seem to have any problems this year. Two weeks on, and I've just had to take my 1st pill. On the packet, it states "may cause drowsiness". Great, it's 7 am, and I'm going to nod off to sleep as I type this email. In reality, I've been relatively lucky with hayfever over the years. I've only just started suffering again since we moved out of the city. It can cause some people real problems. I remember sitting in a line down at a huge music festival here in the UK called Glastonbury back in 1997.  We were sat in a field, and the pollen was on overload. My brother kept rubbing his eyes continually until he reached the point that the whites of his eyes were bulging due to the irritation the pollen had caused. Not a great sight and the last thing you want to suffer from at a music festival. I hear you ask - what the hell does this have to do with my Technology business Scott?  Well, let me explain. Also written on the pill packet, I read this morning were the words "take one a day". This left a question and a reality of marketing that you need to know about. Do I really need to take one a day? What if I have no symptoms? Surely I won't need a pill? Is this just a marketing ploy? Words can be compelling. There's a brand of shampoo that doubled its sales (head and shoulders) simply by stating on the bottle, "wash, rinse, repeat". The word "repeat" doubled their sales purely from the fact that those suffering from dandruff followed the instructions in the hope it would rid them of dandruff. Now back to your MSP - what words can you change in your marketing and on your website to double your conversion rate? Those prospects that read your blog or see your social media posts.  What words can you craft that will increase the chance that the lead takes action? One thing you should know about all the material we produce at IT Rockstars is that it is constructed in a way that will boost your conversion rates using the power of words.  Words are powerful.  In other news My take on Microsoft expanding into [managed security services](. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
