White house aims to cut nicotine [Click to view in browser](. Dear subscriber, Marijuana stocks got a big boost today. And it’s not because of the date. It actually came from the Biden administration. [Along with earnings from Phillip Morris (PM) this morning, we found out the White House wants to cut nicotine in cigarettes.]( Their goal - to force tobacco manufacturers to lower nicotine levels to the point it will no longer be addictive. While it’s not policy yet, it’s under consideration along with a potential ban on menthol cigarettes. Remember when… After the Vietnam War, the U.S. decided that if you were old enough to serve you were old enough to vote. Thus, we got the 26th amendment. Apparently, that doesn’t extend to alcohol. And as of last year, tobacco as well. It was odd how little fanfare and resistance it found. The U.S. is not known to be tolerant of restrictions (see Pandemic 101). Passed as part of the $1.4 trillion spending package in late 2020, only 6 senators voted against the bill along with less than 100 representatives. At the same time, nearly 2/3rds of Americans support the full legalization of marijuana. Our “pot” take Tobacco companies already began investing in cannabis brands.
