September 19, 2024 Weekly Digest 🌬️ Aim Leon Dore Goes Gorpy With First GORE-TEX Colla

[Hypebeast] September 19, 2024 Weekly Digest 🌬️ Aimé Leon Dore Goes Gorpy With First GORE-TEX Collaboration TLDR: The Queens-hailing luxury streetwear label has announced its first-ever collaboration with GORE-TEX, the leader in breathable, waterproof and windproof fabrics (and an integral component of the outdoorsy gorpcore style code). Why It Matters: Hiking into the market, the Teddy Santis-led brand has teamed up with GORE-TEX to create two function-first silhouettes — the GORE-TEX Shell Jacket and the GORE-TEX Double Knee Shell Pant — for the Fall/Winter 2024 season. Available in lime green and black tones, both silhouettes are constructed with GORE-TEX’s premium three-layer ePE membrane, capable of fending off nature’s harsher elements. The Shell Jacket boasts a clean facade with fully sealed seams, an adjustable hood, multiple utility pockets and both imprints’ lettering stitched onto either side of the chest. The Double Knee Shell Pant, meanwhile, matches the jacket with double reinforced knees, an adjustable waistband, adaptable cuffs and subtle branding on the upper thigh. Why It Matters: A wild collision of animal prints mostly done up in neon hues, the “Jungle Dreams” appears across six different tee colors, each boasting its own unique application of the graphic.Tee colors available as part of the collection are black, three different shades of blue (navy, royal and sky), grey and white. The Tri-Ferg logo on each tee is applied in classic fashion, with a smaller-sized graphic taking up residence on the left chest while a full-sized embellishment is spread across the upper back. As mentioned, each tee uses a different assemblage of neon tones but all call upon the same collage of animal prints, namely zebra, leopard and what appears to be tiger stripes. Why It Matters: This collaboration is a celebration of exploration and expression, bringing together the best of both brands to create a line with a focus on high-performance materials and sophisticated design. The new collection is a testament to the shared ethos of both brands: a commitment to exploration and redefining norms. With a focus on high-performance materials and sophisticated design, the collection is crafted for those who seek to forge their own path. The collaboration’s logo and slogans “My energy comes from freedom and a rebellious spirit” and “Wear your freedom” are printed on different items, inviting you to embrace the spirit of freedom and energy as you explore. Amidst all the madness in the American fashion capital this week, here were the moments we loved the most. Why It Matters: NYFW has officially concluded, and the fashion crowd’s photo dumps are likely beginning to clog your feeds with content from all over town. Celebrity cameos were numerous at NYFW, but The Green Lady of Brooklyn’s appearance at Collina Strada’s “Touch Grass” showcase may have been our favorite. With Madonna and Ice Spice in the front row, Offset on the runway, and big metallic Ana bags all over Rockefeller Center, Luar’s Spring 2025 show on Tuesday evening was among New York Fashion Week’s most impressive spectacles. On Sunday afternoon, Virgil Abloh-founded label Off-White™ transformed Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 2 into a massive pick-up basketball court for its debut New York Fashion Week show. Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2025 showing was a star-studded ode to New York City, with even Wu-Tang hopping onboard for the spectacle. Why It Matters: Three models live under the Zenshin collection: a three-hand timepiece with day and date displays and a chronograph with day display, both sustainably powered by signature Eco-Drive technology, and an automatic model. Between the Zenshin Three-Hand, the Zenshin Chrono and the Zenshin Mechanical, Citizen subverts its classic watch styles with retro-leaning aesthetics that speak to a contemporary set. The series is crafted from Super Titanium™, a proprietary material that’s five times harder and forty percent lighter than stainless steel, rendering the timepieces scratch- and rust-resistant. Citizen introduces a revamped integrated bracelet matching back to the silver-tone Super Titanium™ case, with brushed Y links and a folding closure system.
