That’s exactly what happened when Federer shared a video of his swing two months ago with the caption “Trying to pick up a new hobby.”⁠Why It Matters: Taking up golf in retirement is far from a novel idea, but it takes a bit more courage when you had to exit your previous profession due a bad knee, or when you’re accustomed to winning more than 80% of the time. It's one of the best golf courses in the entire world, and almost equally exclusive. Luckily for use, LA-based photographer Will Nichols got a rare opportunity to play the seaside course designed by Alister Mackenzie, and documented the experience with photos and carefully chosen words. You can check it out on our Instagram, and an excerpt is below.⁠Why It Matters: “On a late Tuesday afternoon in July, I drove into the fog until I saw the ‘Cypress Point Members Only’ sign. Passing through, the legendary clubhouse appeared through the cypress trees. The pro shop, though tiny, was filled with treasures, reminding me that this course is all about the sport of golf.⁠Teeing off on Alister MacKenzie’s masterpiece was surreal. The course begins with narrow forest-like fairways and lightning-fast greens."⁠Check it out [here](. --------------------------------------------------------------- ⚾ This Bogey Boys x Ebbets Field Collection Isn't Out of Left Field TLDR: Bogey Boys' latest project, an 11-piece collaboration with Ebbets Field, is led by classic baseball jersey complete with pinstripes and embroidered patches. Constructed from wool flannel like the uniforms of old, the Bogey Boys logo is placed at the center of the jersey as if it were the team name while a co-branded patch is sewn on to the bottom right.⁠Why It Matters: Contemporary label Bogey Boys, founded in 2019 by Seattle rapper Macklemore, thrives on a feeling of nostalgia for the golden age of golf fashion, or as Macklemore describes it a time ‘when people got dressed to play golf.’ As the 2000s turned into the 2010s, golf fashion took a turn towards prioritizing performance, but Bogey Boys encourages a movement back (or forward depending on your point of view) towards premium fabrics.⁠Read the full article [here](. --------------------------------------------------------------- 🩵 An AJ9 Golf "UNC" Is On the Way TLDR: Whenever a UNC colorway of a Jordan silhouette surfaces you know it’s going to be popular, but when MJ gifted the entire men’s golf team at his alma mater in April, it was unclear whether the public would ever be able to get its hands on the goods. The good news is that the pair will hit Nike on August 12 priced at $230 USD.⁠Why It Matters: Similar to the AJ1 Low Golf “University Blue” that released in 2022 which opted for a simple two tone blue/white theme, the AJ9 makes use of powder blue on its midsole, heel accents and sock liner. Although the rest of the upper appears uniform from afar, at closer inspection a combination of soft suede and smooth leather wraps the foot for a water tight seal.
