They did nothing but when I rang they said it had failed the MoT. I've just called them and they said it was srapped.I knew nothing about this - can you tell me what my rights are please? I was insured on my friends car for 2 weeks while she was on holidays. I was involved in an accident that wasnt my fault. My friends insurance sorted it out. Do i need to tell my insurance about it? Essentially, as he was moving left, he hit another car which was driving on the hard shoulder. At the time the other driver admitted responsibility, but of course this changed. My son's insurer contacted him months later asking if he would be willing to accept joint responsibility, which he agreed to. Now, nearly a year after the incident, they are asking if he will accept full responsibility, as the other insurers are contesting it. There were no witnesses, and no footage of the incident. His insurance is up for renewal, and his insurers are basing his quote on his being at fault (he did accept joint responsibility). My question is, when getting quotes from other companies, does he need to put down that he was at fault, or not? I have had three punctures on my hybrid Kuga in the space of a few months and am wondering if this is the cause? I have category B+E on my license dating from 1975, which the DVLA says means I can drive a vehicle up to a MAM of 3500 kg, towing ANY size of trailer. That is, if I tow a caravan with a car, the (car + caravan) weight does not have to be below 3500 kg, as it would if my BE category was dated after 19 Jan 2013. What I cannot find is â does this alter after 70 years of age? Iâm pretty sure that up to 70, I had a C1 category on my license, which I automatically lost at age 70. Iâm just wondering if there is any change at age 70 to the (car + caravan) weight limit â i.e. am I now restricted to (car + caravan) having to be below 3500 kg, or not? I'm happy with it, but the tech is somewhat behind the curve with no satnav, no parking sensors even, let alone cameras. I'm trying to decide whether to keep it. If I bought a new car similar in size I want it to be petrol only. Are there even any petrol-only options anymore? Budget up to £30k and would prefer manual handbrake. Any suggestions?
