I don't have a driveway that can have a charging point as it is to far from the house and there is unlikely to be road side chargers where I live. Currently the nearest charging points are at supermarket 1 mile away but you can only leave the car the for 2 hours this would not be long enough to fully charge the battery. I've read that using a rapid charger all the time is not ideal as it could damage the batteries. I'm retired so charging at work is not an option. I can't see a way forward other than leaving the car at the supermarket for two hours walking home then going back to collect it. In the last four weeks, despite frequent driving with some long journeys, I've received repeated 12v low battery warnings while parked for a few minutes with the multi media system on listening to the radio. The Toyota garage seems unable to resolve or understand, only suggesting trickle charging. I like the car, but have given up on getting a satisfactory resolution. [Read more →]( [I'm getting speeding fines for a car I don't own - what can I do?]( Posted by on 3 June, 2024 Last year I got a speeding fine for a car I have never owned or know anything about. So I filled in the fine details explaining I do not own this car, sent it back in the self addressed envelopes and heard nothing more about it. This year I got two more fines for the same car, I did the same sent them back and a few weeks later the same two fines came back. I did the same again sent them back, I also emailed Manchester fines department, tried phoning them but it was a voicemail saying the inbox is full. Now just waiting to see what happens if they come back again should I go to my local police station and get them to sort it out? If they are coming to me I assume I am the registered owner on the v5 logbook which seems strange. Why don't the police put the car reg on ANPR and stop the car to see who is driving and explain why they have not registered the car? The modification included a lowered fuel tank which now protrudes c.3inches below the visible body and, when driving it, she regularly grounds on speed bumps. She has already cracked the tank and had it repaired. This doesn't seem safe to me as the fuel tank is fully exposed to any object on the ground. Neither the dvla or the mot checks seem to anticipate anyone would expose a fuel tank this way, they merely suggest that "unsafe" modifications may be illegal. What are your thoughts on this? When I bought it I was getting around 19MPG for short city journeys we rarely use it for motorway driving but on the occasion we did it went up to around 31MPG but has since gone down to around 10 MPG for short city driving.
