It needs to be dog friendly and ULEZ compliant. However she only has about £3000 to spend on it and the age of the good old banger seems dead. What would you recommend? It has 0 miles on it, it was stored in a family garage and I recently cleaned it and I am looking to sell it. It has all its interior and exterior original components. I wanted to know around how much is the suitable price for it and who my target buyers should be? Its a 1973 model with front hinged popup roof. It was restored around 10 years ago with plenty of photos and invoices to prove it. A recon engine was fitted in 2018 and I estimate it has covered about 2500 miles since then. The odometer hasn't worked since we got the van but it shows 153k I believe. This might not be the original odometer. There are a few small rust issues but nothing major. Any ideas of value, please? I have had one windscreen claim on each policy in the last 5 years. Audi is saying the situation is unfortunate and there is nothing they can do and they say my model also cannot be upgraded to internet capability. Yes, I can use my smart phone, but if I bought the vehicle new with a 5-year warranty and which also included 5 free satnav updates, then what is Audi's and the franchiser's legal or regulatory obligation to me the customer? Money and details were exchanged. As the buyer left he literally pulled off gear stick as reversing the car. Now he is claiming that the gear box was on its way out and he was sold a faulty car. Both were new and even though they were garaged much of the time the paintwork suffered badly from ‘sun bleaching’. I understand that modern paint finishes are more resistant, but has the problem been solved completely, or is it still worth avoiding red if wanting to keep the car for a few years? Also, are metallic finishes more resistant than ‘plain’ red? My partner has started to take driving lessons and I have told her that once she passes her test then she can have my old car which she can use for herself and maintain, once it has been re-insured, taxed and had an MOT. I am still the registered keeper of the old car that I want my partner to have and she will be the main driver, although I will also put my name on it as I may still use it from time to time and it should hopefully lower the premium for her as I have more driving experience. Although I will be letting my partner have the car, I don't really want to 'give' it to her, my worry is, if I am still the registered keeper but not the main driver, will that mean that, if in the event that my partner has some kind of incident such as a speeding or parking fine, does that mean that I will incur the charges and consequences seeing as I am still the registered keeper? If so, then is there any way around that or do I need to register the car with my partner as the registered keeper and driver? The MoT certificate was issued on the day of collection with no advisories. I have noticed that the tread on one of the front tyres appears to be very close to the legal limit. Are there any guidelines as to what depth low tyre tread should be advised during the MoT test please? I also want to be able to fold down the seats so that I can sleep in it. My problem is that I'm 6ft4 so would like something big enough that I can lie down straight in. Ideally it wouldn't be much over £2000, but I am willing to go a bit higher for the right vehicle. Good fuel economy and relatively cheap insurance are important too. The car itself is circa £860 with basic cover which seems about right. They do offer peace of mind ‘supreme’ cover on top, however, should I wish to take that out. The slight issue is the supreme cover is £600+. In your experience is there a solution to this conundrum?
