The future of Showtime’s co-presidents of entertainment, Gary Levine and Jana Winograde, has been determined. Chris McCarthy, who added oversight of Showtime last year following the departure of David Nevins, sent a memo to staff Monday revealing that two-decade network veteran Levine will segue to a new role as senior creative adviser, while six-year network exec Winograde will be leaving the company at week’s end. [The story.]( —Coming in. Also on Monday, McCarthy revealed that his top lieutenants at MTV Studios, Nina L. Diaz and Keith Cox, will take on more prominent leadership roles at Showtime. On a big news day for Showtime, the premium cable network laid off around 120 employees as it prepares to merge with Paramount+. SpringHill, the production, consumer product and brand consultancy company founded by LeBron James and Maverick Carter, is cutting some staffers while saying it’s poised to expand its total number of employees this year. CEO Carter informed staffers of the reorganization on Monday with the company laying off 10 staffers but saying it will be hiring two dozen more. The company currently has about 200 employees. [The story.]( —🤝 Consolidation 🤝 Jujamcyn Theaters, the owner of five Broadway theaters, will combine operations with International Entertainment Holdings Limited, the parent company of Ambassador Theatre Group. Ambassador currently owns two Broadway houses, in addition to its larger footprint in Europe, where it has more than 50 venues across the U.K. and Germany. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. [The story.]( 'Ted Lasso' Books S3 Premiere Date ►Mark it down! Apple TV+ has set a March 15 premiere date for season three of Ted Lasso. The two-time Emmy winner for best comedy series will roll out its 12-episode season weekly starting then — which puts its finale at May 31, the last day of eligibility for Emmy consideration this year. The announcement also came with a teaser for the new season, riffing on Ted’s “Believe” sign. [The teaser.]( —Shocker! Taye Diggs, who has starred on The CW drama All American as Billy Baker since its late 2018 launch, was shockingly killed off of the series during the Feb. 13 episode. All five seasons of Arrested Development are set to leave Netflix next month as part of a licensing agreement that is set to expire by March 15. In 2013, Netflix revived the show with an additional two seasons as a co-production with 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Entertainment. Amber Ruffin, the host of Peacock’s Amber Ruffin Show and writer and performer on Late Night With Seth Meyers, will star in, write and executive produce a comedy pilot called Non-Evil Twin at NBC. The relaunch will include a preschool animated series set to debut in 2024 — Barney will no longer be portrayed by a human in a T. rex costume — and a range of consumer products aimed at the under-6 set. The relaunch will also cover possible films and YouTube content. “Apparel and accessories for adult fans, featuring classic Barney, are also in development,” Mattel notes. About 106m of those viewers watched the main broadcast on Fox and a Spanish-language feed on Fox Deportes, with the remainder on Fox and NFL digital platforms.
