ð¤ Why do some foods make you fart? Certain ones contain compounds that create gas when broken down by bacteria in the gut. Others have types of sugars (e.g., complex or sorbitol) that the body has trouble digesting. Gas can also be caused by [inhaling too much air]( when you eat or drink. ð« Which are the fartiest foods? If youâre going on a hot date with someone new or just donât feel like tooting all night, you might want to [avoid the foods]( below.
