I rode Arizona yesterday keeping in mind the concepts of:  1.  Have a plan and a destination 2.  Be clear using my headlights and go slow with lots of breaks 3.  Fix the nose  The change in my horse was so incredible, it brought me to tears. Every time we took a break, Arizona would lick and chew, shake his head and blow out.
