Jade is a HappyCow Ambassador for Inverness. [View this email in your browser]( [HappyCow]( [Cowmunity Spotlight]( Meet Jade! [Jade]( is an Ambassador for [Inverness]( whose been using HappyCow since first going vegan. A travel blogger and YouTuber, she's a bit of an expert on traveling in a way that has positive impacts on people, places, and the planet. She went vegan in 2021 [HappyCow Ambassador Jade]( My husband and I both went vegan two years ago whilst attending Vegan Camp Out 2021. The combination of challenging our cognitive dissonance with the activists talks and being around so many inspiring vegans from all walks of life gave us the final push we needed. Prior to that, we were pescatarian for five years. [Grow the vegan moo-vement and pledge for Veganuary with TeamCow!]( Her favorite restaurants include... [Vegan fried egg]( [The Vibe]( Liverpool [Spaghetti and meatballs]( [Rad Rabbit]( Chiang Mai [Nasi Lemak]( [Pinxin Vegan Cuisine]( Penang [Vegan burger]( [Veganburg]( Central Singapore [Save these restaurants to your Favorites on HappyCow!]( [Unlock your culinary potential with Chef Mark Reinfeld]( Where can you find the best vegan food? [Vegan dessert]( [London]( probably has the best, owing to it being so easy in general to get vegan food in the UK, as well as the variety and number of vegan specific restaurants and eateries in London. [Chiang Mai]( was also really great for vegan food. [Pai]( in Thailand was the best for vegan street food at a general night market. [Find and share vegan inspiration on HappyCow's Veganuary feed!]( Veganism is a marathon, not a sprint Find your motivation, connect with like-minded people (HappyCow, vegan events, Facebook groups, etc.) and be kind to yourself. Going vegan is an extension of my values around compassion and kindness in action. Remember, it’s a marathon and not a spirit, and it’s better to make a slower transition that’s going to stick rather than making an overnight change without preparation and then potentially giving up after you hit bumps. You don’t need to be perfect, so don’t give up if you slip up. We were worried that going vegan would impact on our travels and ability to immerse ourselves in a local culture, but, in fact, it’s done the opposite as we’ve learnt more about local cultures by going vegan (especially through understanding more about the link between spirituality/religion and veganism), and we have connected more with local vegans and particularly passionate vegan chefs and restaurant owners. Keep up with Jade! Jade and her husband have a travel blog and YouTube channel, where they provide kind and conscious travel guides and resources.
