In the 1300m² former machine factory hall, Kath will present his entire portfolio of around thirty collections to international rug retailers, architects, designers and journalists. This event, organised in partnership with HALI and COVER magazines, offers visitors a chance to view Kath’s extensive range of handmade rugs and how the collections work together in a relaxed setting. Over the past five years ‘A Family Affair’ has established itself as an important part of the carpet industry’s calendar, and a great meeting of professional rug minds. Furthermore, one can meet members of the Kath family and the JK company team—there is a distinct family vibe to be found. Arrange your visiting dates as it suits you and be looked after by Kath and his team for a day or two. Kath’s spacious showroom not only allows for many rugs to be seen in situ, but also for a reasonable yet limited number of visitors to be present at any one time. The company is of course taking Covid-19 safety regulations into account, and will strictly adhere to them throughout the four days of the show. Organised around a set visitor schedule, the event will be ideal for guests from countries with different travelling and safety requirements. The world-famous Jan Kath Erased Heritage collection has received many awards and has often been exhibited in international museums. In the collection, antique patterns are reinterpreted in contemporary ways using the highest level of craftsmanship. A recent off-shoot of these is the beautiful Polonaise Collection and for the 'A Family Affair' 2021, a new chapter will begin with the Savonnerie Collection, reinterpretations of 17th-century designs made in France and Britain. Alongside this new development, peruse your favorite designs from collections like From Russia With Love, Ballpoint Art, Common Threads, and the more recent Yantra, Gorski and Spectrum rugs.
