[Moose Hunters Donald Duck Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937)]( Moose Hunters Donald Duck Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937)
Once again, Donald's posterior is the "butt" of the joke - in fact, he has just sat down on a bee! This offering, released to theaters on February 20, 1937, features Mickey, Donald, and Goofy all tracking the giant animals through an alpine wilderness. It was directed by the prolific Ben Sharpsteen and featured animation by Disney greats Art Babbit, Norm Ferguson, and Clyde Geronimi. Mickey and the fellas have all cobbled together some rather shoddy disguises, Mickey cloaking himself with an appetizing (to a moose, anyway) bush, and Goofy and Donald employing a seductive '"lady moose" costume - complete with antlers! They are about as successful as you might think... After nearly falling off a cliff, Donald swings back up to safety and lands in a small patch of flowers - with a very territorial little bee! In this drawing, seen at the 4:49 point in the film, Donald is shooing away the angry insect. He is rendered in graphite and colored pencil and the image area measures approximately 6" x 5". Drawing is on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Minor creasing (image unaffected) and toning of paper. In Very Good condition.

[Virgil Ross - Yosemite Sam 'Model Sheet' Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s)]( Virgil Ross - Yosemite Sam "Model Sheet" Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s)
"Great horny toads!" Hot-tempered cowboy Yosemite Sam, long-time adversary to Bugs Bunny, was a creation of director Friz Freleng. Here's a fantastic 16 field model sheet-style illustration with six images of Sam, four in his regular cowboy outfit and "11-gallon" hat, and two of him in a suit. The art is by long-time WB animator Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996), who worked for years in Freleng's animation unit; he is well known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. This signed piece includes image sizes ganging from 4" to 7", and is in Fine condition.

[]Heritage Comic Art Catalog Honored With A "Benny Award"
[Premier Print Award aka a 'Benny'] We're thrilled to announce that our catalog has won the highest award that can be earned in the printing business, a Premier Print Award aka a "Benny."
Our May 2018 catalog, featuring a lenticular effect on the front and back covers, was chosen for the award. That auction was, at the time, the biggest comic auction ever held (we have since broken our own record) so it's only fitting that an award-winning catalog accompanied it.
Thanks and congratulations to the team that made this happen!

[September 20-21 Wine Auction]( Private Collection of Prominent Collector, Writer Featured in Heritage Auctions' September Wine Auction
Mark Golodetz, a leading wine collector and writer for more than three decades, is offering 6,000 bottles from his personal cellar to collectors in Heritage Auctions' [Wine Auction]( September 20-21 in Beverly Hills, California. The event will be Heritage's largest multi-consignor auction ever presented, with more than 1,900 lots, with a low estimate for the sale at nearly $3 million.
Golodetz has been writing about wine and collecting for more than 30 years. A contributing editor and European correspondent for Wine Enthusiast magazine, he also has written for Bloomberg, World of Fine Wines and Art and Auction.
"The wines we're offering would be described as from an eclectic cellar," Golodetz said. "It features a strong selection of Bordeaux from the 1950s and '60s and '70s, and a lot of excellent Burgundy. There are plenty of choices for trophy collectors, but it also features some outstanding selections from 1962, which was an amazing vintage nobody pays much attention to."
"This collection covers a really wide range," Heritage Auctions Senior Fine and Rare Wine Director Frank Martell said. "The Mark Golodetz collection is an absolute treasure trove for trophy hunters, collectors, drinkers and academics alike."
In addition to the Friday evening Signature selection of Golodetz' wines, there is a large and varied Non-Floor Session that will stream online offered in the back of the catalog, offering incredible bidding opportunities for buyers.
Several other important collections are featured in this auction, including a New World Cache from a repeat consignor and a large selection of rare Burgundy and California wines from a West Coast cellar.

[]Cover of the Week: We Throw The Challenge Flag
There is so much to discuss here that we wish we had a John Madden "Telestrator."
[School Day Romances #2 (Star Publications, 1950) CGC VF 8.0 Off-white to white pages](
- Bizarrely, the fans are seated right up to the sideline. Where do the coaches and backup players stand? (Maybe this is the Arena Football League).
- The double-entendre pickup lines have to be read to be believed.
- These editors are no Stan Lees when it comes to hype - the only praise they offer the stories is to call them "solid," and they describe the whole thing as a "sock issue."
On the bright side, this is a high-grade copy of a hard-to-find issue with cover art by the great L. B. Cole. [You can bid on it here](.
