I asked why only twice a month. And maybe his answer will resonate with you: “Because I can’t write good! My copywriting sucks. And if my copywriting sucks, my subscribers will get annoyed and unsubscribe. Plus if I email more than I do now, people will think it’s too much.” A few things to unpack here. - You don’t need to be a stud copywriter. You just need your emails to be clear, useful, and interesting. Email is a forgiving channel and works great when you write in a conversational way. As the great Matt Furey says, “write like you talk.” - There’s no such thing as emailing “too much”. You can only be too boring, too useless, too confusing. If you keep it clear, useful, and interesting, your ideal people will stick around. - Yes, when you email more you will get more unsubscribes. That’s OK. It just means your emails weren’t relevant to them at this time. Perhaps they come back in the future. But the benefit is you build a stronger bond with people who DO find it relevant. Which of course leads to more sales for you. My measure of “good copywriting” comes down to one thing: Does it get the right person to take the action I want them to take? Click a link, watch a video, reply back, comment below, buy a product, etc etc. I don’t write for claps. I write for conversions. If you want claps and recognition, I can’t help you. But if you want to move people closer to working with you… and eventually buying your stuff… Then perhaps I can help. (Even if you feel you can't write good.)
