[A graphic displaying the logos of the 10 new mini grantees.]( We asked our new mini grantees how they use your grassroots donations to make progress at the local level — and we’re excited to share their responses with you. [Before we dive in, can you pitch in to support our efforts today? By chipping in now, you’re helping support local activists working in places where voting rights, reproductive freedom, and more are under threat.]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [CHIP IN $10 NOW]( [CHIP IN $25 NOW]( [CHIP IN $50 NOW]( [CHIP IN $100 NOW]( [CHIP IN $250 NOW]( [ANOTHER AMOUNT]( - The Oklahoma County Clerk plays an important role in overseeing the county’s budget — including the sheriff’s office and the county jail. But typically, very few voters turn out to elect the County Clerk. Seeking to change this, Let's Fix This engaged residents through volunteer phone and text banking. Their Groundwork mini-grant was used to purchase GOTV text messages and phone banking supplies. 📲 - The Olive Tree Initiative launched a new campaign to unite incarcerated people and their families as part of their larger grassroots movement for better policies and quality of life for marginalized communities. This Groundwork mini-grant was used to hire eight mentors throughout West Virginia to assist newly released individuals. 🤝 - Return My Vote provides free voting rights restoration assistance to every Alabama citizen who lost their voting rights due to a felony conviction. The organization used the mini-grant to mail a new informational pamphlet to educate folks about felony disenfranchisement, how to win back voting rights, and the importance of voting and civic engagement. 🗳️ - The West Virginia Black Pride Foundation is a newly founded grassroots organization dedicated to uplifting the voices, lives, and experiences of LGBTQ+ communities of color within West Virginia. The organization used the mini-grant to support their new community center operations. 📝 - Vote for Change OK empowers citizens across Oklahoma’s BIPOC and rural communities to make their voices heard through voter education, engagement, and registration. The Groundwork mini-grant was used to train current and new volunteers in civic engagement, organizing, and non-partisan work. 💪 - In March, Florence, Alabama was hit by a severe storm that caused large power outages across the region. Marginalized communities are often overlooked during times of crisis, and Project Say Something is working to change that. The organization used the mini-grant to provide disaster relief to low-income Black and brown communities by purchasing food to replace what was lost during the outages. 🥖 - ForEver Caring Evonne instills hope, resilience, and self-esteem in the LGBTQ+ community and advocates for gender justice and equality in Jackson, Mississippi. They’re using the mini-grant to completely overhaul their website, allowing them to extend their reach and brand even further. 💻 - Camp re:power is an in-person training space to reorient organizers to a long-arc approach to building power and deepening and strengthening movement infrastructure and capacity. The Oklahoma Civic Learning Coalition is using their mini-grant to send their lead organizer, Adriana Laws, to Camp re:power + bring what they learn back to Oklahoma. ✍️ - Over 100 clergy are expected to attend the Statewide Clergy Leadership Conference: Training and Organizing for Justice, convened by Faith in Action Alabama. The organization used the mini-grant to partially fund the conference, where participants will strengthen their ability to effectively preach about justice issues and develop a strong analysis regarding factors that drive racism and economic injustices in Alabama. ⛪ - GRITS, Inc. launched its brand new book club to discuss food justice, foodways, and food history with local Mississippi community members on a monthly basis. The organization used the mini-grant to host the book club meetings and build a community library of books for community members who cannot afford to purchase books. 📚 As you can see, the support of this grassroots team goes toward so many important community organizing efforts and progressive movements across the country — specifically in regions that are often underfunded and overlooked by national organizations. So whether you want your dollars to help fund organizer trainings, creative voter turnout strategies, or critical policy fights, know that by pitching in toward Groundwork Project’s work, you’re doing all of that and more. [{NAME}, chip in today so that we can continue expanding our mini-grantee program to include even more groups working year-round to build grassroots power:]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [CHIP IN $10 NOW]( [CHIP IN $25 NOW]( [CHIP IN $50 NOW]( [CHIP IN $100 NOW]( [CHIP IN $250 NOW]( [ANOTHER AMOUNT]( Thanks for all that you do to support this work, Anthony – Anthony Davis Jr. (he/him) National Organizing + Programming Advisor Groundwork Project Groundwork Project 124 Washington Street, Suite 101 Foxboro, MA 02035 United States [groundworkproject.com]( | team@groundworkproject.com | [Privacy Policy]( Paid for by Groundwork Project, www.groundworkproject.com, not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.
