But we can’t let up just yet. There is a runoff election in Georgia and we cannot leave anything on the table. Senator Raphael Warnock is defending his seat, which will either keep a tie in the Senate should he lose, or give Democrats the upper hand with a 51st vote if he wins. After the battle for the midterms that defied historic trends across the country, we have to show up again for Georgia, and that’s why we are transforming this month’s newsletter to highlight ways you can help. At Groundwork, Georgia has a special place in our heart. Our mission was inspired in part by the hyper-local organizing that took place in Georgia for the decade prior to 2020. A long overlooked, ‘red’ state in the south was transformed into a battleground state through solid leadership that knew the value of investing in organizers and trusting their knowledge of their communities. Democrats have tough battles ahead now that an extremist GOP holds the power in the House. We need as many tools to fight back as we can assemble, including a true Senate majority. So, we can’t leave Senator Warnock’s runoff election up to chance. We have got to step up and do our part to turn out voters. We’ve included some highlights from the ground in Georgia and actions you can take to make an impact today. Read on for more information on how you can get involved.
