Hey {NAME} – I wanted to check in with you quickly about what’s going on here at Groundwork Project. We just got back from another short visit to a Groundwork partner state – Mississippi. It was a quick visit but I had the time to connect with our latest Mississippi grantee and other organizers in Jackson, where we saw the effects of the ongoing water crisis that has rocked the entire city. While the boil water advisory has been officially lifted, these communities are still uncertain of the safety of their water, and understandably distrustful of the state government that ignored the alarm bells from local officials until it was far too late. Moments like these just reinforce to us at Groundwork how critical our mission is. We don’t choose our partner states at random – we believe they are the true battleground states, the most critical fronts in the biggest battles of our time. And state failures like what’s been happening in Jackson, MS are proof of that theory. In order to continue to support the hard work of our partners fighting these battles every day, we need your help. We’re facing our Federal Election Commission filing deadline on Friday at midnight and in order to keep funding the work of these folks on the ground, we’ve set a goal of bringing in 250 individual donors before our filing. [Will you step up now and become one of those donors?]( [GIVE $60 (average donation)]( [GIVE ANOTHER AMOUNT]( I’ll be paying close attention to the donor rolls as we get closer to the deadline to make sure we’re on track. I hope to see your name there, {NAME}. Thanks, Joe --------------------------------------------------------------- Founded by Joe Kennedy III, Groundwork Project invests in year-round, local community organizing in places Democrats have gotten used to writing off. With a focus on Appalachia, the Deep South, and the Plains, we support local advocates and activists working to build durable political infrastructure and secure power for those historically excluded. [CONTRIBUTE]( Individual contributions will be allocated as follows: $5,000 per calendar year to a bank account that operates as a Federal PAC, and the remainder to the Non-Contribution Account of our PAC. --------------------------------------------------------------- We want to respect your boundaries while keeping you informed.
