In a moment, Iâm going to ask you to consider [chipping in $10, or whatever you can,]( to support my grassroots campaign to represent New York's First District in Congress. But first, I want to tell you a bit about who I am, and why Iâm running. As a mom, educator, and scientist, my approach to governance is rooted in facts, data, and common sense. It's about prioritizing the needs of families like yours and mine. A few years ago, a group of right-wing extremists got elected to the school board in the town next door to mine. That was a wake-up call for many of us. As a mom and teacher, I couldnât sit by while extremists attacked our local democracy and threatened our kids, so I joined together with several other moms to create a nonprofit to advocate for our public schools, protect our kids, and get good people elected to school boards. With this little nonprofit, we took on MAGA candidates â and won. We won in school districts across Long Island, kicking out the extremists who were attacking public education and trying to use our kids as political props. Now Iâm taking that fight to Washington, where Iâll look out for Long Island families. That means cutting costs for Long Islanders, defending womenâs reproductive freedom, protecting our environment, ending the tragic cycle of senseless gun violence â and so much more. For too long, our district has been dominated by politicians who prioritize partisan games over serving the people. My opponents, George Santos and Nick LaLota, are emblematic of this broken system. They prioritize their own self-interests over the people of Long Island and engage in political stunts instead of delivering effective representation for New Yorkers. With my background in science and education, Iâm ready to bring a fresh perspective to Congress. A perspective that prioritizes the needs of our community, not special interests. With my track record as a problem solver, Iâm confident I have what it takes to be the leader that Long Islanders deserve. I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and fight for the community I love, but Iâm not going to be able to win this race on my own. [Thatâs why Iâm turning to the folks on this people-powered team: Will you chip in $10, or whatever you can afford, to ensure that I have the resources needed to build a winning campaign ahead of November?]( Thanks for your ongoing support, Nancy [DONATE]( Paid for by Goroff for Congress
