I got an interesting question this week that I imagine you can be asking yourself as well: "I very rarely get new clients from the website. Should I be concerned?" Here's my two cents on this: If you get enough inquiries overall, I don't think so. A website is only a piece in your marketing puzzle. It can be helping you getting inquiries in a way you can't explicitly trace. For example, not every inquiry where your website influenced their decision to reach out will be sent using a contact form. Somebody may use your email address or contact you via LinkedIn. Another important purpose of your website is to provide you with credibility. For example, people who meet you offline may google you and visit your site to make sure you're legit. Or someone who reads your post on social may check out your website for more information. Also, for service providers, the sales cycle is long. Studies say that on average, a prospect needs to encounter your name 10 times before they reach out. So, seeing your website could have been an encounter #1 or #7, which still plaid a role in helping you get a new client. And last but not least, the number of inquiries also depends on the website traffic. There is no one-fits-all number of visitors that one needs to have to be getting enough inquiries from their website. It also depends on what pages your prospects look at, how many pages each visitor checks out, what pages those are, etc. Bottom line Even if you don't get inquiries through your website's contact form, it doesn't mean that your website doesn't play a role in acquiring new prospects. It shows your prospects you're legit and can be trusted. They may not be ready to reach out today, but your website is clear, valuable, and memorable, they will remember you and reach out when they are ready. Which also means that a vague, jargon-filled, or cluttered website will sabotage your business. And if you want to fix that, you know where to find me (👉 [here](=.xvE_MMFC50mQj_hei66pEj0a26MUxKwiNh4BpZsCxnY)). This would be all from me for the week. This email may contain typos, and I'm fine with them because cloning humans is, unfortunately, still impossible. Spending more time proofreading my emails would mean I'll have to share fewer tips with you. And sharing more and better tips is more important to me than sharing tips that are grammatically perfect. I hope that's fine with you, too.
