This afternoon I was proud to stand beside my friend President Joe Biden as he signed a series of executive actions that will make our country safer from gun violence. [Photo of Gabby Giffords holding President Biden's hand at the White House after he signed new gun safety executive orders]( As I was at the White House today, I couldn’t help but think back to when I stood in the Rose Garden with then-Vice President Biden in April of 2013, when the United States Senate blocked a bipartisan bill to close the loopholes that let dangerous people buy guns without a background check. President Biden had called that day a “despicable day in the Senate.” [Gabby standing with President Obama and then-Vice President Biden at the Rose Garden in 2013]( To be able to join him at the White House again today eleven years later, this time for celebratory reasons, was a surreal moment. It shows just how far we’ve come and how much progress we’ve made in our gun safety movement. Today’s victories for our movement are the culmination of work since GIFFORDS’ founding eleven years ago—work that still isn’t over yet. The Biden-Harris administration has put gun safety first over the past four years, and now we must elect Vice President Kamala Harris to carry on President Biden’s gun safety legacy as the next president of the United States. [Can you please make a $3 contribution to fuel our work at GIFFORDS PAC to elect Vice President Harris this November and keep advocating for lifesaving gun safety legislation?]( If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly: [CONTRIBUTE $3]( [CONTRIBUTE MORE]( Thank you so much, {NAME}.
