Back then, it was considered too divisive for politicians to even mention the words “gun safety.” Today, we endorse hundreds of candidates each election cycle who run on a gun safety platform. And they’re winning, {NAME}. In 2022, over 80% of our endorsed candidates won their elections. We have passed over 600 gun safety laws in states nationwide since our founding. The two year anniversary of the passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act is tomorrow. This was the most significant federal gun safety legislation passed in nearly 30 years. All of this progress gives me so much hope, {NAME}, and I hope it makes you feel the same way. But there’s still so much work we must do. Over 120 people die from gun violence each day in America.
