I don't know about you, but lately I've been feeling like time is zipping by faster than Cheech on his way to an open bar... Between running these businesses with Cheech, traveling around for media appearances, and just trying to keep up with family, it feels like I blink and suddenly a month has passed, man. Anyway, I bring it up because I was chatting with the team and Dr. Clark (you know, the brains behind our CBD and THC formulations) the other day on a call. I mentioned in passing that I was feeling this way... And and a few hours later in classic Dr. Clark fashion, he sent me an email that I thought I had to pass along. Hey Tommy, just wanted to shoot you a couple things to read about the whole "time passing more fast as you age" question. I know you've been feeling like time's speeding up, and actually most people feel like that as they get older. A [UCLA study]( showed that specific brain cells organize how we experience and remember time. These cells, in parts of the brain like the hippocampus, create patterns that help us recall the sequence of events. But as we get older, these patterns compress, which makes it feel like time is moving faster. Another explanation is that we perceive time differently based on novelty. When we're young, everything is new, exciting, and frankly just a bigger portion of your life - so time feels stretched out. But as we age and get busier, our routines and experiences become more familiar, so the brain doesn't spend as much energy processing them. This can make days, months, or even years feel like they're flying by. [Here's an article]( about that. For someone like you who's constantly busy and managing so much, your brain might be 'packing' these experiences into tighter patterns, making it seem like time is speeding up. Hope this helps, Dr. Clark Well, isn't that something? Here I was thinking Father Time had traded in his hourglass for a stopwatch, but it turns out it's all in my head... literally! It's wild to think that my brain is just "packing" experiences tighter. I guess that explains why my memories of the '70s feel like they lasted a decade, but last year feels like it was over in a flash. (Though, to be fair, my memory of the '70s is a bit... hazy for other reasons, man.) You know, this got me thinking. Maybe the secret to making time feel slower isn't about doing less, but about experiencing more new things. Maybe it's time for your Uncle Tommy to pick up a new hobby... any suggestions? And hey, I'm curious - do you feel like time has sped up or slowed down as you've gotten older? Hit reply and let me know. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Keep on keepin' on, Peace and love, [Tommy Signature] Tommy Chong P.S. Speaking of time flying, our PARTY sale is speeding by too (see what I did there?).
