Even though our National Cousin's Day sale is done, I just had to drop back in one more time to share some of your many amazing responses to my last email. See, in all of my excitement getting to ask you the final question of our sale, I completely forgot that I had already asked Steve down at the office to send the last email... (Believe it or not, sometimes my short term memory ain't 100% for some reason...) But that means I wasn't able to follow up like usual and share your responses to my last question while the sale was going on. But hey, better late than never, man (that sure is a mantra I try to live by at my "advanced" age). My last question was "What's the most unexpected or unusual thing you've ever learned that turned out to be incredibly useful?" I've been sitting at my kitchen table reading through your responses over breakfast the last few days, and let me tell you - my mind has been blown more than a few times. I just had to share a few of these gems with you: Tin foil on counters and furniture to keep cats off! Wooden spoon over boiling pot of pasta so there is never an overflow. Kathy C, Washington If you live in an area where you sometimes find scorpions, spiders or other unwanted pests in your home, always keep a long stick with a loop of duct tape at the end--the telescopic pole that is used to help change light bulbs is ideal. Even my wife feels brave enough to grab a scorpion off the wall this way rather than waiting for me to get home (only to find out that the scorpion managed to go hide already). Marc H, Arizona Alright, this is going to sound weird, but the all those years complaining about having to learn Algebra and Geometry have paid off for me. I have a sewing business and need to calculate not only how much fabric I need for a project, but how to lay out the pattern pieces for the most efficient use. So remember saying, "I'll never need this!"? Yes, you do need this! Diana S, Florida You know Diana, I may have shared this in a previous email (I can't remember which stories I've told, or how many times I've told 'em...) But I actually bought myself "algebra for dummies" maybe 15 years ago to force myself to sit down and learn it once and for all... Turns out, I'm not bad at math... I'm bad at sitting still and paying attention in a boring math class (BIG difference). Anyway, I really didn't ever end up finding a use for it, but at least I can say I didn't let it lick me, you know? Good on ya for getting it right the first time! Welcome back! We missed you. My mother taught me that if you cut an onion at the top first and then the root, it won't make you cry. That might be helpful in the kitchen. Also if you pour a coke on your windshield, it will clean off the film that builds up. Peace and love. Cheryl G, Georgia The Houdini knot, if you want to tie something but not permanently the Houdini knot is perfect. The Houdini knot is a loose tie, that untied very easy done correctly, a famous magician made it as a trick. Tresten B, Ohio Reading all these responses has got me thinking - we've got a pretty amazing familia here, don't we? Maybe we should put together a book with a bunch of these life hacks and thoughts. We could call it "Uncle Tommy's Almanac" - what do you think? And hey, if you didn't get a chance to share your own answer, it's not too late. Hit reply and let me know. I'm always eager to learn something new, especially if it's a little out there. Keep on keepin' on, Peace and love, [Tommy Signature] Tommy Chong   [Facebook]( [Instagram]( Don't Want These Emails?
