A few months back, the LA Times reached out to me for an article. Yup, that's right man. Turns out, some people still care what ol' Cheech is up to these days (sometimes, that still makes my head spin) I mean, I'm just a guy who mostly made a career out of joking around and pretending to be high (okay, maybe not always pretending...) But hey, who am I to deny the people what they want? If folks are interested in how this aging Chicano comedian spends his Sundays, I'm ready to spill the menudo, man. As a life-long LA resident, (you know, except for the time I spent in great white north meeting Tommy and other adventures... But that's a story for another time...) Any-who, the folks down at the Times wanted to know all about my perfect Sunday in LA. I figure they were expecting some wild stories about parties with Tommy or crazy Hollywood shenanigans... But truth be told these days, my perfect Sunday is a little more... let's say, relaxed. If you want to check out the full article, you can find it here: [( But for those of you who don't want to wade through all that fancy newspaper talk, let me give you the Cheech's Notes version, man: - Rise and shine at 7:30 AM - Yeah, I know, pretty early for an old hippie, right? - Start the day with a bowl... of menudo! (What were you thinking, man?) - Meditate for 20 minutes - been doing it since I was 19, keeps me zen, you know? - Then it's time for a different kind of bowl, if you catch my drift... (outside, of course!) - Catch up on the Sunday news shows - gotta keep tabs on those politicians and their creative storytelling... especially this year - Jam out on one of my 13 guitars or 8 ukuleles - currently working on a reggae version of a Paul Simon tune, if you can believe it - Catch a movie with the wife - nothing like a dark theater on a sunny day - Late lunch at California Pizza Kitchen - hey, don't judge! Their spaghetti Bolognese is pretty dang good - Go shopping and maybe pick up some Levi's 501s - I've got a special technique for those button flies, man - Another bowl, a sip of bourbon, and a good dinner - End the night playing some music, or watching "The West Wing" or "Ancient Aliens" Oh, and sprinkled throughout the day? A few more of those "special bowls" (it is a weekend, after all). Anyway, that'd be my perfect Sunday. And I'd love to hear what yours would look like too, man. Are you hitting up local spots? Chilling at home? Playing music? Watching the game? Hit reply and let me know. I'm genuinely curious to hear how the cousins spend their Sundays. Who knows, maybe I'll pick up some new ideas for my next day off! Be good (or be good at it), Cheech P.S. If you're ever in Riverside, CA, make sure to swing by the [Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture](. It's definitely worth a visit on a Sunday (or any other day of the week), and we just celebrated our 2 year anniversary yesterday. Pretty amazing to think, man.   [Facebook]( [Instagram]( Don't Want These Emails? All Good Man!
