Oooooh boy... How should I begin this one? 🤔 Pretty complicated (and decisive topic), wouldn't you say? I know! Let's just ask Chat GPT to do it for me! *clears throat* "Chat GPT... Write an emotional 1000-word email from the perspective of a Csaba Borzasi from Game of Conversions who tried Ayahuasca for the first time in his life. Talk about common things people experience during these ceremonies, including what's going through their heads and how they feel. Share how their worldview changes after a psychedelic experience and how their friends and family look at them now that they have shared this with them. Be creative!" That should do it! Oh, wait... Chat GPT doesn't have a clue what Ayahuasca feels like 😅 Bummer. I guess I'll have to write this email myself... And I'm probably gonna have to publish it in 2-3 parts so that I don't overwhelm you with a single 2000+ word email. *sigh* (FUN FACT: I'm still not using AI for these emails, by the way... So every single thing you read from me is 100% Csaba) Anyway, back to the story: After about 2 years of research (including LOTS of books, podcasts, and deep conversations with all sorts of people)... I finally decided to personally try out Ayahuasca for the first time. Now... If at this point, you're like: "Huuuh? WTF is Ayahuasca?!" Here's the short version: It's a South American psychoactive "tea" traditionally used as a ceremonial or shamanic spiritual medicine among indigenous tribes in the Amazon. It's usually made out of (at least) 2 VERY specific plants that – when taken together – create an altered state of consciousness... Which usually includes visual hallucinations and altered perceptions of reality. Or in other words... It allows you to see & feel things in the world that you can't normally perceive! These can be anything from bright colors, fractals, sounds, inner voices... To repressed feelings, conversations with your own subconscious, or ANYTHING, really. (And YES - even so-called "Entities"!) Now... If this sounds way too "woo-woo" for you, you're NOT ALONE. I also used to be super skeptical about these types of things... But after 2 years of research, I HAD to realize something: The science behind this is actually pretty legit... And after trying it myself, I simply can't argue with it anymore. The Ayahuasca experience is R.E.A.L. And after several unsuccessful attempts at trying to join a ceremony... I finally found a The ceremony itself was held on a beautiful sunny day at an amazing location built on a hill... and overlooking a volcanic caldera near Lake Balaton. Pictures don't quite do this place justice... But here's one I took for 'ya during a brief hike: Now... People say "set and setting" is really important when it comes to psychedelic trips... And I can confidently say both set AND setting was perfect in this case. I loved the whole setting... And I also loved the cool people I got to meet there. (including the friendliest and puRRiest cat ever!) When I arrived, we took some time to get to know each other a bit better... Share a few stories of past experiences... And laughed at how we're all probably going to vomit like CRAZY during the ceremony 😅 Oh yeah... Did I mention that Ayahuasca has a super strong cleaning effect on your body? So that – after you drink it and it has some time to absorb "toxins" in your body – you're pretty much destined to vomit EVERYTHING out... ...repeatedly?! Yeah... It ain't pretty... And it certainly ain't a "pie-in-the-sky roses-n-unicorns" -type experience. In fact, in a sense, it's hard work. (just like any serious self-development technique) But I was still curious to finally find out what all the fuss around Aya is about! And fortunately, we had the PERFECT guy to guide us through this experience. A genuine shaman who -- unlike many other fake shamans (gurus?) -- knew his stuff and has participated in over 1000+ Ayahuasca experiences before. And this was suuuuuuper helpful because you REALLY need an experienced, legit guide for something like this. So... Fast-forward a few hours to about 9 pm... and the shaman rang his high-pitched bell... And with that, the ceremony has officially begun. And what awaited me on the "other side" was unlike anything I'd ever seen or felt before... Stay tuned for Part #2 of this story... In which I'll share everything I remember from my weird journey to the depths of my mind. (WARNING: details may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and startling revelations!)
